Kericho - Members of Kericho County Assembly have lashed out at MPs for passing a bill that seeks to strip governors of their powers.
The MCAs opposed the move terming it selfish and ill-advised.
Led by their leader of majority Daniel Ronoh, the MCAs lashed out at MPs for personalizing issues of national interest, a situation they said negates development.
Ronoh argued that Chapter 1(article i-iv) of the constitution gives powers to the governors to bear the title of His Excellency, and can therefore fly flags on their vehicles.
Addressing the media in the town, the members maintained that any attempt to cripple devolution shall not be tolerated and further called on leaders to put aside their differences and work together for the sake of development.
"Any attempt to interfere with devolution shall never be tolerated whatsoever. It is through devolution that lives of Kenyans will be improved and development fast tracked," said Ronoh.
