Busia - A section of Busia Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) want the state to boost the security of Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba.
The MCAs led by County assembly majority leader, Josephat Wandera said the life of Ababu may be in grave danger, following the ongoing corruption allegation facing the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
“We are aware in this country that corruption has a way of fighting back. We belive the people involved in the alleged scam at PAC may try to harm Ababu, after what he told the Powers and Privilege Committee (PPC),” said Wandera.
“As the probe continues on the corruption allegations in PAC, we want the security of the Budalang’i lawmaker to be beefed up,” he told News24.
Charles Otee, a nominated MCA, said the state must ensure that the security of Ababu is guaranteed, as his recent revelations may have ruffled some feathers.

The Jubilee administration must act now and ensure that the life of Ababu is not endangered because of the sensitive information he possesses on corrupt dealings in the government,” said Otee.
He asked the Powers and Privilege Committee to be fair in its investigations, noting that people of Busia County and larger Western Kenya region are following the matter keenly.
The Budalang’i MP claimed his life is in danger at a press conference last Thursday at parliament buildings in Nairobi.
Ababu said he had received death threats over his alleged exposition of officials linked to corruption in government and within parliament.
