Luos are victims of tribalism, says Kibra MP

Nairobi - Kibra MP, Kenneth Okoth has accused the Jubilee administration of fueling tribalism in the country.
Citing latest appointments made by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Okoth said Luos were the main targets of tribalism in Kenya.
He said there has been a systematic removal of Luo civil servants from leadership positions in government departments, disciplined forces and state corporations since March 2013, when Jubilee came into power.
“Educated ambitious Luos in this country no longer have clear hope that they will be treated with equity under the Public Service Commission.

“As new appointments and promotions are made, fewer and fewer descendants of the great Lwanda Magere feature on the lists,” he said.
The legislator claimed that Luos had become refugees in their own country as a result of tribalism that is being fuelled by the government.
“Attacking tribalism is not tribalism. Kenya is for all of us,” Okoth said.
