Nakuru - Nakuru Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua has said he is not afraid of former secretary to the Cabinet, Francis Kimemia, saying that he is ready to face it off with him for the Nakuru governorship in 2017.
Speaking Monday evening in Subukia constituency, Mbugua welcomed Kimemia into Nakuru politics saying he is not threatened by the entry.
He told Kimemia to prepare for a real duel, adding that Nakuru is not for the faint hearted.
"The political field is an open one and no one can be stopped from joining politics as long as he meets the requirements. If Kimemia wants to join politics, he is most welcome but he should be prepared for a fight," said Mbugua.

Mbugua added that members of parliament from Nakuru County have every right to support whoever they want, but insisted that the final decision will be made by the people of Nakuru.
"Even if the MP's say they are not supporting Mbugua, I will not be worried because I know the people are with me," he said.
Kimemia, who was sacked by President Kenyatta recently, is being taunted as a formidable challenger of Governor Mbugua in 2017, with majority of MPs from Nakuru County rallying their support behind Kimemia.
