Leopards raise KES 1m during fundraising dinner

Nairobi - Afc Leopards last night organised a KES 50 000 dinner plate at Crown Plaza hotel in Upper hill to raise funds to enable the club settle its financial deficit for the remainder of the season and meet its budget.

The occasion was graced by the team’s acting CEO Dr. Richard Ekhalie. The total amount of money raised was KES 1.072 million. The dinner was also attended by CECAFA General Secretary Nicholas Musonye who has always stood with the team in its efforts to reclaim its lost glory.

Others present were club patron Cyrus Jirongo who contributed KES 460 000, team Chairman Allan Kasavuli who contributed KES 100 000 and General Secretary George Aladwa who also gave KES 100 000.  Esther Luvembe, the assistant treasurer contributed KES 50 000, vice chairman Patrick Ngaira KES 20 000, organizing secretary Timoty Lirumbi KES 20 000, Nicholas Musonye KES 50 000, committee member Carolyne Mayunzu KES 30 000 while treasurer Remmy Mudi gave KES 20 000. The club's goalkeeper trainer John Busolo and Team manager Francis Xavier also contributed.

The assistant coach Nicholas Muyoti promised to work hard and support Leopards' chairman. He also encouraged club officials to work together as he challenged fans to turn up in large numbers and give the team the necessary support.

C.E.O Richard Ekhalie promised to organise more events in order to ensure that the team settles its debts and meet its budget.
