The Nakuru town Member of Parliament Lee Kinyanjui who is also eyeing for the governorship in Nakuru County is vouching for transformation leadership to change the lives of the residents.
He said any political leadership should be an opportunity to make an impact on the society so that there is an improvement on their lifestyle.
“ Political competition should not encourage enmity among the contenders but a chance to help improve on the welfare of the people” he said.
The Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Roads also pointed out that team work was important in service delivery.
Kinyanjui said his track record should be a guiding factor to assist the electorate evaluate him and form judgement on his leadership.
He was speaking at Milele Resort Hotel in Nakuru on Wednesday evening when he addressed members of the Luhyia community residing in the County.
He said the County which has inhabitants from different communities should strive to coexist together and forge harmony if tangible development has to be achieved.
The legislator said different communities in the County should in future hold cultural celebrations to assist promote harmony.
Kinyanjui said the County which has in the past been affected by ethnic rivalry should embrace peace and observed that each individual has the responsibility to champion peace.
He said Nakuru County politics was most of the times affected by the country’s politics and cautioned that the electorate should be wise in making their decisions.
The chairman of the Luhyia community in the County,Javan Chiteri said the community was seeking economic empowerment so as to uplift the welfare of the community members.
He added that the welfare group which draws members from the four counties of Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia and Vihiga was pursuing economic empowerment ventures to assist uplift the lives of the community.
He said branches are in the process of being formed in other town such as Nairobi,Mombasa and other major towns.
