Nairobi - The results of a DNA test to determine whether a body found in Voi is that of missing ICC witness Meshack Yebei will be known Tuesday.
The tests have been ongoing for just under two weeks now after police asked Yebei's family to head to the Coastal town to confirm whether a body found there is that of the ICC witness.
Yebei has been missing since late December after he disappeared in Turbo town.
A body that resembled his was found along the river Yala and was initially claimed by his family but later it was found to belong to a different person, an Ali Hussein.
The frustrated family was then left wondering what to do after the results before they were sent to Voi.
According to police sources, the results will be known Tuesday.
" The tests have been ongoing. We will know Tuesday whether it is his body or not," a CID officer not authorised to speak to the media told News24.
Yebei was an ICC witness under the defence team roster for Deputy President William Ruto.
Since his disappearance, there has been a war of words between Ruto's team and the ICC prosecution, who have called Yebei a rogue witness who was used by the defence to try get potential witnesses not to testify.
If the body is indeed his, it will raise a number of questions, such as what his body was doing in Voi, who took it there and most important, why he was killed.
