Landslide hits Nyandarua

At least five families were on Monday left homeless after their houses were washed away by a landslide at Ngano village in Nyandarua County.
Nyandarua North OCPD Benjamin Onsongo who confirmed the incident said that among those affected included a church that was swept over 50 meters and property of unknown value damaged.
He urged the residents in the area to be alert and also relocate to safer grounds to avoid losing more lives.
He also warned members of the public to be on the lookout this rainy season and avoid places prone to flooding.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for the body of a 13-year-old boy who was swept away by the heavy waters of a seasonal river as he was trying to cross.
