Koinange sidekick Gachoka escapes arrest, released on bail

Nairobi - Tony Gachoka, wanted by police over contempt of court charges together with TV host Jeff Koinange has been released on bail.
The PR guru and political analyst was wanted together with Koinange for his role in contempt of court, accrued after failing to appear in court despite a summon by the Nairobi magistrates court.
He arrived in court Wednesday after the High Court Tuesday dropped arrest warrants issued against the two personalities after Koinange argued in court that he was informed of the contempt of court charges through the media.
Gachoka was released on a KES 50,000 bail.
Koinange, a well known and liked presenter of the highly popular show 'Jeff
Koinange Live' was arrested outside his Nairobi home Tuesday morning by
uniformed police officers.
Koinange had tried in vain Monday to have his arrest and that of Gachoka, ordered last week by a Nairobi
magistrate be stopped at the High Court as he was deemed not to have
followed valid court processes.

The two had linked Wanjigi's company to the KES 6 billion Anglo Leasing scandal.
The JKL show airs on the Kenya Television Network station KTN.
