Koigi awarded KES 12 million for Kenyatta, Moi torture

Nairobi - Subukia MP Koigi Wamwere has been awarded KES 12 million as damages for the torture he was subjected to during the Kenyatta and Moi presidencies.
The MP was a political prisoner during those times and was tortured by the then governments led by the late president Jomo Kenyatta and retired president Daniel Moi.
He was awarded the money by the Appeals Court Friday.
The award comes a few years after another political torturee Gitobu Imanyara was awarded KES 34 million.
