Nairobi - Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch has been flown to Nairobi for treatment after he fell ill and collapsed in his Kisumu house.
The MP allegedly collapsed and fell unconscious before being rushed to the Aga Khan Kisumu hospital, and after a period of stabilization, was quickly flown out to Nairobi for more treatment.
The MP is affiliated to the opposition Orange Democratic Movement ODM.
Kisumu Senator Prof Anyang Nyong'o confirmed the incident to News24.
" He has collapsed and is being rushed to Nairobi. It is not yet clear what has happened but we are awaiting his arrival in Nairobi," he said.
The incident comes at a time when the party is in mourning following the death of party leader Raila Odinga's son Fidel, who also passed on in unclear circumstances.
He will be buried Saturday in Bondo.
In November, Homa Bay Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang also affiliated to ODM, collapsed in hospital and died, in what was later pronounced as a case of cardiac arrest.
Just last week, the son of Siaya Senator James Orengo also spent two days in hospital after also feeling very ill, but he was later discharged.
More to come...
