Kimilili man marries a cow

11 December 2014, 10:04 Ben Wafula

Bungoma - A 35-year-old bachelor from Lutonyi village in Kimilili constituency has accepted to marry a cow after he was caught making love to it.

Vincent Wanyama is said to have untethered his brother's cow at around midnight Tuesday and took it to a nearby bush where he committed the beastly act until around 5.00am when he was caught red handed by the owner who called neighbours and together arrested the suspect.

"I woke up at night to check on my cow only to find it missing.Thinking that it had been stolen, I mounted a search for hours but luckly heard some noise coming from the nearby bush and when I peeped because there was a moonlight, I saw my brother on top of the cow," said Job Wanyama, Vincent's elder brother.

He said they arrested him with the help of neighbours and upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to loving the cow saying it was not the first time to have an affair with it.

When he was about to be taken to Kimilili police station, he offered to marry the cow saying he was willing to keep it as his wife.

The owner of the cow had insisted that the suspect accompany the cow to the police station for it was his only source of income through its milk but the suspect accepted to buy him another cow as he stays with his newly found wife.

The future of that marriage is not yet known as it is not clear if the husband will pay the dowry.
