Kimaiyo return met with mixed feelings

Nairobi - The quick return of David Kimaiyo to the public service has left Kenyans with different feelings over a man who has always seemed to divide opinion.
Kimaiyo was named the new Kenya Airports Authority boss Wednesday, just a few weeks after he was sacked/resigned as the country's police boss.
Blamed too often as too slow and reactive rather than proactive, he was often the brunt of the public's anger whenever something went wrong, and with his return has brought more emotive feelings.
Many on social media were angered by the lack of fresh blood in the public service, rather than Kimaiyo, who could be forgiven for being nothing but an accepting nominee.
" Eric Kiraithe resigned from police force and joined KAA after failing the IG post to David Kimaiyo. Guess they were joined by hips at birth, John Njiru said on Twitter.
Ronny Ayumba, also on Twitter was even more damning.
" If Kimaiyo gets KAA job after performing poorly then those with below 200 in KCPE should be admitted to national schools. If he still held his job despite his incompetence leading to loss of lives then Kimaiyo can do anything he wants at KAA & still be 'safe', he argued.
Sophie Mukwana on the other hand, saw the funny side of it.
" Should we expect more "exploding light bulb" statements now that Kimaiyo is moving to KAA?, she joked.
James Smart was also able to see the funy side of things.
" Kimaiyo had 'retired' to concentrate on 'family, God and church' gives me great pleasure to know KAA is exactly that, he joked.
Kimaiyo and the president are yet to give a formal statement on the nomination, one which Kenyans will doubtless want to hear.
