“We have the suspect in custody and will be arraigned at the High Court after investigations are completed. We pledged to apprehend and bring him to book, and we are happy we finally have him behind bars,” said Mohamed.
The arrest of the businessman who was on the run comes two day after the county leaders led by Governor Ken Lusaka and Kimilili MP Suleiman Murunga faulted security agencies for failing to arrest the suspect.
The two leaders who were speaking during the funeral service of the slain student at Kimilili DEB Primary School they were puzzled that the authorities had not caught up with the businessman, a week after the tragedy.
Lusaka had threatened to lead the area residents in a demonstration today if the culprit, who is a licensed gun holder, will not have been brought to book.
“I will join hands and lead residents in protests if justice does not prevail,” warned Lusaka.
