Kidero orders Sonko Rescue Team vehicles impounded

Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has ordered the impounding of vehicles used by the controversial Sonko Rescue Team.
Kidero Friday, ordered the Nairobi County Inspectorate to impound the vehicles stating that they are not licensed to operate within the city.
" All vehicles linked to the rescue team must be impounded with immediate effect," the notice said.
The Rescue team is run by Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and offers free services to Nairobians, from ambulance services to rescue teams among others.
The initiative by the Senator has however been seen by many as a ploy to discredit Kidero and has not been taken nicely by the Governor.
It remains to be seen how the Senator will react to the move by Kidero, with critics stating that the two are not best of friends since they are on course to face each other in a battle for the governorship in the city come the 2017 election.
