Kidero gags Khalwale

Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has landed a gag order on Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale and other Western Kenya leaders to stop them from linking him to corruption.
In an application to the High Court Wednesday, Kidero, through lawyer Cliff Ombeta stated that he needed protection from Khalwale and other leaders who have slandered him in the last one week over the mismanagement of the Mumias Sugar Company, which he says is not his fault.
Khalwale last week accused Kidero of being the thief of thieves and for running down the now heavily in debt Sugar company.
The High Court in Milimani thus ordered Khalwale to stop talking in any terms about Kidero.
" The defendant slandered the plaintiff as corrupt, a racketeer, a swindler, a fraudster, a white collar criminal, a scheming conspirator, a cozener and undeserving of holding public office," the court order read.
Khalwale had called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to jail Kidero for running the company down whilst he was CEO and leaving it with a huge debt.
He spoke in Mumias during a KES 1 billion bail out ceremony for the sugar firm led by the President.
Kidero has previously stated that there was no evidence to prove he was corrupt and said that he would take Khalwale to court unless he apologized over his accusations.
Khalwale had said he would not apologize, thus the move to take the matter to court.
