Nairobi - Retired president Mwai Kibaki says that Kenya has lost a great man and personality in the death of Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang.
Kajwang died Tuesday night of apparent cardiac arrest at the Mater Hospital in Nairobi, an incident that has shocked many.
The former president, who worked with Kajwang in the grand coalition government, says that Kajwang was a man of cheer and a good personality to hang around.
" I have learnt of the sudden passing on of Homabay Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang with profound shock and disbelief, Kibaki said in a press release.
Kibaki said that Kajwang took upon his duties with energy and positivity.

" The late Kajwang, be it in Cabinet or public rallies, expressed his views with notable flair and exuberance. Indeed, one did not need to necessarily agree with him every time but few, if any, would fail to notice, let alone ignore, his trademark charm and charisma," he said.
He added that Kajwang's renowned energy was an example to many.
" The late Kajwang’s memorable combination of sheer energy and his forthrightness in telling it as he saw it distinguished him from his peers in virtually every forum he patronised".
" My condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace," he finished.
Kajwang's cause of death will be officially determined during a post-moterm to be held Friday at the Lee Funeral home.
