Kibaki calls for peace

12 September 2012, 16:56Steve Wambugu

President Mwai Kibaki has called on all Kenyans to maintain peace and order as the country enters into campaign period saying Kenya is for everyone.

Addressing local leaders from Nakuru County today at Nakuru State House, Kibaki said it was pointless for any individual to cause chaos against a fellow Kenyan simply because they differed over ideological issues.

“It adds no value to anyone to fight or cause any chaos against your fellow neighbor simply because you found him there or over an issue that you could not agree upon” said the Head of State.

The President further reiterated the entire commitment of his government in ensuring peace and tranquility prevails in the country before and after the coming general elections which are slated to take place next year 4th of March.

“My government remains fully committed in keeping peace before and after the coming general elections.” Said the President.

The President who latter in the day paid a visit to Provincial General Hospital did not mention in his speech the on going National Strike of teachers and lecturers in both public schools and Universities.
