Khalwale took bribe from Kidero to keep mum on Mumias

Nairobi - Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale has been accused of accepting an out-of-court deal over the Mumias Sugar Company case.
It is alleged that Khalwale secretly met Nairobi Governor, Evans Kidero in Arusha last week where he took bribe to keep mum on the scam.
Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali, Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, former Shinyalu MP Kizito Mugali and ODM national youth leader Rashid Mohammed said Kidero and Khalwale met in Tanzania last week and the Senator was compromised into conceding on matters affecting the Mumias sugar company.

“I was in court last Friday but Khalwale and his lawyers never turned up for the hearing of the case. This is when I confirmed that money had exchanged hands between the two leaders. Khalwale has proven to be a cheap leader who can no longer be trusted. If the two met, it shows that Kidero looted Mumias,” Washiali said.
Rashid observed that it is surprising to learn that Khalwale had turned against the agreement to fight for the people the moment he started accepting bribes.
“It is surprising that after standing with our brother Boni Khalwale in court and even being roughed up by Kidero supporters in Nairobi, where we were forced to seek refuge in the toilet, Khalwale secretly went to Arusha last week where he met Kidero for an out-of-court settlement,” lamented Rashid.
