Kenyatta turns into African darling

15 August 2014, 21:04

Nairobi - He goes by Myriad of names by both those who love him and his voice of dissent recently against the West. His staunch followers within and thousands of miles away regard him as the youngest world leader, richest , eloquent, competent ,charismatic and of course a venerated pan Africanist taking over from Kwame Nkrumah, Kenyatta senior and others, the Kenyan antagonists on the other hand see an ICC inductee who stole his way to the house at the top of the hill.

At the helm of the last presidential election, we heard litany of propaganda and what I have always referred to as subversion: purposed, aimed and intention to purge Jomo Jr. from becoming the fourth CEO of the independent Kenya.

The west threatened the Kenyan constituents of mother Kenya being a pariah state in case of hon. Kenyatta and his deputy ascending to the throne. They cited the crime-against humanity name tags hanging on their necks, the hyped Johnny Carson quote "choices have consequences" seem to have fueled and elicited a protest mood among the pro-UhuRuto combatants, they overwhelmingly and vehemently voted against the wishes of the Caucasian world.

Whereas we Kenyans see President Kenyatta strictly with our Kenyan-blinkers, miles away he is a firm pan-Africanist who can never be under-estimated even by the muscled world powers like THE US and the UK. During the state burial of the late world icon Nelson Tata Mandela when the name "Kenyatta" was called out, there was thunderous cheers and was given the rare standing ovation, innumerable African opinion-pollsters have even ranked him at the pinnacle of the African-fame index. More recently he was named the third most performing president African wise, as much as we might disagree with this but the pollster firm did amplify the fact that the "Uhuru" name has an impact across the boarders!

Relate this to our case: we are seeing a replica of geopolitical spheres of influence of 1884: Africa is at the epicenter of the two competing geopolitical blocks West and East. The hawkish west is employing western-funded multi-national civil societies and agencies like USAID ,UKAID, AFRCOG etc to dethrone Eastern-leaning regimes in Africa, this competition have already scuttle developmental strides in different nations and it seem to have lubricated the opportunists' political path.

The diminishing influence of the West in Africa vis-a-vis the omnipresent emergence of China have resulted to assassinations, military coups and mutinies in Africa all orchestrated by the west: Libya, Liberia, CAR ,Egypt have all gotten the bitter share of this "scramble".

In addition, I firmly believe that the architects of the International Criminal Court at The Hague must have cleverly come up with this hyped court purposely to prune and dethrone some rigid African leaders who do not dance to the western-tune by incriminating them.

The ICC riddle in Africa seem to have gotten the same meaning in all the minds of the African presidents, it's an imperial judicial court aimed at executing the "second scramble of Africa agenda". President Kenyatta being the first seating head of state to be indicted by the Europe-based court propelled his popularity amongst the majority of Africans. The third-world countries and their heads of state, and this must have geared Washington to turn a blind eye to the purported crime against humanity cases against Kenyatta by inviting him at the White house in the just concluded Africa-US summit contradicting the famous “essential contacts" phrase amplified from London and Washington two years ago.

The mesmeric ICC theatric in Africa has forced the many African governments to lean more toward the East than the West. It need not to be ignored that these are happening at the crucial moment in time when Western oil companies have just discovered billions of barrels of oil across Africa e.g. Tullow of UK is at its final stages of starting to mine oil and gas in Kenya, Ghana and Uganda . American oil companies have been reported to also discover over ten billions of barrels of oil at the shores of Somalia. It is therefore indisputable that the above necessitated the US-AFRICA summit.

It's my opinion that president Kenyatta's influential pan-African treads has influenced White House to invite him, the gist of the summit was simple "Wooing Back Africa”, other methods were not giving positive results. China's emergence in Africa as a thread to the West was the propellant period.

When a standard group journalist asked president Obama why he had not visited his father's country, he technically torched the question contradicting his earlier sentiment that linked the UhuRuto indictment at the ICC as the valid reason.

Zimbabwe, Sudan, CAR, Egypt, Guinea Bissau were not invited at the US-AFRICA and therefore these kills the hypothesis that it was an all-African affair.
