Kenyans want Ruto freed by ICC

Nairobi - Majority of Kenyans want Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang released by the International Criminal Court ICC, in a survey by pollster Ipsos Synovate.
48% of Kenyans feel that Ruto should be let free for various reasons, including the court not having sufficient evidence among others.
33% of Kenyans want the cases to proceed.
8% want the cases to continue but without the need for Ruto to attend court proceedings at all.
" Majority of those in favour of the cases are among respondents from Central Kenya at 76 percent to a low in Coast of 24 percent of those who are
in favour of the cases, such constrains position appear mainly to
reflect the political divide with more than twice as many Jubilee than
CORD supporters backing such a withdrawal (70 vs 30 percent)," the pollster said in its report.
On the other hand, if the cases do continue to conviction for especially Ruto, 53% feel that there would be violence if the cases continued, while 33% feel there will be none.
Ruto and Sang's case is however on the verge of collapse after ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda admitted that she was lacking evidence to prosecute the two.
