Kenyans urged to use energy saving equipment

30 April 2012, 16:20Kelvin Wanjohi

Kenyans should embrace energy saving measures, thanks to new technologies aimed at conserving the environment.

Speaking in Nyeri on Friday during a largely attended Environmental exhibition dubbed ‘go green initiative’ organised by NEMA, Francis Nguata, a meteorological director in Central province said that new technologies have been invented and are greatly helping in reduced consumption of energy.

He said that the people who came up with the extraction fuel from cotton seeds and  castor seeds and methods of  harnessing solar energy have greatly contributed towards the initiative but told them to  establish showrooms and stores country-wide where members of the public can access them easily.

He urged the people to make use of energy saving jikos saying this will curb deforestation

He further told the people to play part in saving and conserving the environment.
