Kenyans rejoice in calamatous Ole Lenku exit

02 December 2014, 20:56 William Korir

Nairobi - Joseph Ole Lenku's sacking as interior and coordination CS Tuesday was met with cheers of joy from Kenyans who celebrated the end of a truly shambolic time in office from the sacked CS.

Ole Lenku was shown the door by president Uhuru Kenyatta Tuesday after yet more Kenyans died in gruesome circumstances in Mandera  after attacks from Al Shabaab militia Monday night.

The 32 were apparently shot dead from close range and others beheaded by the militia close to the area where 28 others were killed just last week in similar circumstances.

And after a series of blunders in his 18 month stay in office, Kenyans were well and truly happy with his departure.

Social media went abuzz with stories of his exit and many were unapologetic for their comments.

" OLE DENGU GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE, 12 0f 12 of 14 said on Twitter of Ole Lenku's departure.

" Lenku fired!! Philip Mwaniki said also on Twitter.

" At least Lenku goes home with a verified account on Twitter, Alfred Chepkwony said.

" Ole Lenku couldn't provide security, tourism was hardly hit, many hotels closed down, where will he get a hotel job now, karma, Njiru said also on Twitter.

" Preliminary reports indicate that faded Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku has no clue that he has been fired, Cyprian is Nyakundi joked.

Ole Lenku is yet to comment on his departure from office.
