Nairobi - A Kenyan man is facing murder charges in the US for killing a Hispanic man while driving under the influence of alcohol way above the prescribed limit.
Martin Kingori of Houston Texas is facing the charges for killing the man whilst two times above the limit for alcohol consumption in the US state.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Kingori attempted a dramatic U-Turn in the middle of the road, without looking the other way, forcing the Hispanic man to swerve dramatically to avoid an accident.
He then lost control and died later on from excessive internal injury according to the report.
It is alleged that Kingori will also face charges of putting his daughter, 4, in grave danger after driving her without affording her a safety belt.
The report quotes police officers and paramedics as saying that his daughter survived the accident miraculously as the vehicle he hit damaged the side in which she was sat.
" It was a miracle she survived unscathed," a law enforcement officer was quoted as saying.
Drink driving is a highly punished offence in the US, with murder charges leveled out in cases where there has been a fatality, while other sentences ranging from revoked driving licences to spending time in jail.
