Nairobi - Tweli Kaigwa, best known as “Tweli G” to his fans is the
first ever Kenyan Japanese rapper and the best way to describe what he does
would be ‘extraordinary’.
This young rapper who is currently a student in
Japan, though not known to the Kenyan masses is bound to break through sooner
rather than later.
His Afro-electro hip hop style is one of a kind and has
attracted quite some attention from the Japanese side of things and it is about
time he got some serious Kenyan backing.
His work is done in Swahili, English and Japanese which
helps him cut across the world and reach fans from across the globe. He has
gotten himself a niche I the underground Japanese hip-hop scene, rising in
prominence due to his unique style, strong performance, delivery and message in
His latest work is titled ‘???? which means “Let’s Go” and is
a gospel piece done in a nice blend of English and Japanese. The track sounds
pretty good and is definitely worth a listen.
