Kenya narrowly miss out on cup quarter final
03 February 2012, 15:47
It was a case of so close yet so far away as Kenya came to within
fourteen minutes of reaching the Cup quarter final at the Hertz Sevens
in Wellington, New Zealand when they comprehensively beat Australia
35-10 in their opening Pool D fixture before succumbing to two close
defeats at the hands of France and Canada who beat them 26-17 and 21-14
Despite the loss to France, Mitch Ocholla’s charges were
top of the pool heading into the third round of preliminary matches,
needing to beat their final pool opponents but the result against Canada
meant that they would not be finishing in the top half of the draw.
