Kenya at 50 celebrations

Nairobi - Kenya at 50 steering committee, led by the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Sports, Culture and Arts, Dr. Hassan Wario, on Friday unveiled the committee road map in preparations for the country's 50th anniversary.
Cabinet secretary ministry of sports culture and arts Dr.Hassan Wario said the 50 year anniversary presents unique opportunities that will analyze projects, developments and the aspirations of the people of kenya for the next 50 years.
Wario added that the nation must take the stock of the lessons learnt and the gains Kenyans enjoy today.
The cabinet secretary said the committee intends to run an awareness campaign to sensitize Kenyans on the importance of development.
He called on the private sector, development partners to come on board and support the campaign as Kenya celebrates its auspicious period.
Wario urged Kenyans to give back to Kenya to support development.
He said they will use the 500million shillings as the baseline to build from their. The 19 member Steering committee has been drawn from the ministries of devolution, information communication technology, Kenya vision 2030 and the private sector.
These comes a month since the the committee led by Francis kimemia was disbanded for plans to spend sh.2.5billion on the jubilee celebrations.
