Nairobi - Kenya Power has began a countrywide campaign to encourage its customers to register their account details to receive paperless bills via email and SMS alerts on news products and other services offered by the Company.
Speaking during the campaign kickoff in Nairobi Thursday, Kenya Power Acting Managing director and CEO, Dr. Ben Chumo, said that besides offering convenience to customers, the new service will among other benefits enable the company cut costs on postage of over 2 million bills sent to postpaid customers every month, which amounts to about KES 800 million annually.
The service will also enable the company to send alerts to customers who are due for disconnection for non payment of bills a day before the actual disconnection, as well as progress update to applicants of new power connections. The system will also be used to market new customer service products.
“We will continue to embrace technological solutions to enhance our operational efficiency and customer service. Customer satisfaction is one of our core values hence the need to promote customer loyalty and deliver more value by increasing more avenues of pleasant interactions,” Said Dr. Chumo.
Customers are required to dial *551# on their mobile phones or fill in a form on the company’s website or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org in order to register for the service.
