Nairobi - Women have protested in defence of Devolution CS Anne Waiguru in Nairobi saying she is innocent of corruption.
The women, who were dressed in green lay on the road along Nairobi's Kimathi Street, Moi Avenue as well as Kenyatta Avenue as they sought to 'ensure' that one of them was not victimised out of office.
They carried placards calling for Waiguru to be respected and called on CORD leader Raila Odinga to lay off her.
" Keep off Waiguru Raila!," they shouted.
They then proceeded to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Harambee House office.
The women also threatened to strip naked if Raila continues to attack Waiguru.
" We will demonstrate like never before. We will strip naked if need be," they shouted.
They also chanted victory songs, in response to the failed attempts to impeach the Devolution CS.
Waiguru has been under pressure from opposition leaders over her role in corruption in the National Youth Service NYS where there has been massive corruption which has seen the loss of KES 826 million.
They insist she should step aside and let investigations take place over the incidences but Waiguru has not bulged and has been handed a nod of approval by State House which has defended her as one of the best performing CS's.
There has also been several attempts to have her impeached which have failed.
