Keep off Duale JAP Mombasa leaders warn Central Kenya MPs

04 August 2015, 16:41 Ken Wekesa

Mombasa - Jubilee chairman Mombasa branch Ali Mwatsahu has defended the national assembly majority leader Adan Duale after a section of jubilee leaders threatened to pass a censure motion to send the Garrisa Town Mp home.

Mwastahu said Duale was under no obligation to give out the names of terror suspects and financiers that he had promised, despite his earlier sentiments concerning the issue.

“Duale is not a security officer who is a under obligation to give out names of the terror suspects that should be left to the police officers and if Duale new he only to share the information to the police” said Mwastahu.

He said Kenya was a democratic state and no one should be victimized and harassed because of his opinion towards an issue.

David Ngunyinyi United Republican Party URP treasurer Mombasa branch also defended Duale  and said that he spoke out of pain because the attacks were happening in his area.

“I do not think this is an issue as Duale played a major role in the formation of the alliance between the TNA and URP parties and those calling for his removal have ill motive” said Ngunyinyi.

He further added the issue was politically instigated to tarnish the majority leader’s name politically by those opposed to how he conducts the house business in parliament.

This follows a statement that was issued at parliament by a section of Nyeri MPs who vowed to push a censure motion to kick Duale out the Majority Leader's position.

The MPs had alleged that Duale could not be trusted to continue holding the position after he failed to keep his word over the terror list.
