Kaya elder dies after installing Uhuru

Kwale - A family in Kwale is mourning death of their relative a Kaya elder who died some minutes after installing President Uhuru Kenyatta a Kaya elder in Kwale on Monday.
Omar Koro died in a road accident involving a motorcycle he had bordered and Toyota Saloon car at Matairini area in Matuga.
Kwale deputy OCPD Sammy Nyongesa said the deceased sustained serious injuries after they were hit from behind by a speeding saloon car which was heading to Kombani from Kwale.
“The saloon car was trying to overtake the motorcycle which the deceased had bordered going home. The driver of the motorbike and Koro were rushed to Msambweni district hospital,” he said.
Nyongesa added that the deceased died on arrival at the hospital, after he profusely bled before he was attended to by doctors.
He said that driver of the car was arrested and is being held at Diani police station awaiting to be taken to court.
The driver of the motorcycle was admitted at Msambweni district hospital.
Omar Koro was among other Kaya elders who participated in a ceremony where they installed President Kenyatta as a Kaya elder at Baraza Park in Kwale, where he was distributing 14,000 title deeds to residents in the area.
Few minutes after the exercise, when the function was over Koro and his colleagues left and headed to their respective homes not knowing that he was going to die before reaching home.
