Nairobi - The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) Chairman, Johnstone Kavuludi, has assured police officers that the vetting exercise is not meant to eliminate them but is instead aimed at transforming the Service for better service delivery.
Giving his opening remarks during the second day of vetting of senior police officers, Kavuludi said that the exercise provides an opportunity for the Service to have competent officers.
"The vetting exercise aims at determining senior police officers' competence to improve and transform the NPSC in security service delivery," said Kavuludi.
"The Police Service department plays a crucial role in overseeing national security and thus it should have competent officers," he added.
Kavuludi lauded the media for professionalism in covering the vetting process.
He remained optimistic that the exercise will promote the NPSC's effectiveness and efficiency in its service delivery on security matters.
Kavuludi chairs the on-going vetting of senior police officers.
