Kangundo residents commemorate river accident

Prayers were held recently to mark the one year anniversary when 30 passengers lost their lives in a road accident in Kalingile River in Kangundo is marked today in Kawethei Parish.
"Its so sad we lost 20 Christians in that accident and by that we are commemorating the accident on 20th August. The purpose of the mass set to take place will be to ask God to help the bereaved families and ask for strength to further their efforts in serving God and more," said Peter Musyoka, the Kawethei priest.
He further asked the families that lost their loved ones to always seek guidance from God in their daily lives. Peter also asked the residents to uphold the message of peace to prevent after election skirmishes in the coming general elections.
The Kangundo legislator, Johnstone Muthama who was among the guests asked the bereaved to always bear strength, and to avoid being pulled back by this incident.
Muthama also thanked the Royal Media Services who chipped in to fund the burials of the bereaved families and complete building a church at Kawethei as a sign of unity during hard times.
He further asked the public to uphold intergrity and credibillity in everythng that they do as it is the only way to realize viable results without blemishes nor doubts.
