Kambi: Orengo must carry his own cross

Nairobi - Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi has rubbished claims by Siaya Senator James Orengo that he owns land in Lamu and has urged him to carry his own cross.
Orengo had on Monday named Kambi and Deputy President William Ruto as beneficiaries of rogue land deals in Lamu after too being implicated by the government.
In a rejoinder Tuesday, Kambi dismissed Orengo's claims as desperate and told him to carry his own cross.
" He is desperate. The attacks are an act of desperation, Kambi said.
" We are aware of his role in the deals and he knows it. He will face the music over it and I urge him to carry his own cross, he added.
He also took a dig at Orengo for trying to pull others into a fire that he is burning in.
" Kambi was not the cabinet secretary for lands. It was Orengo. He should explain himself, he added.
The attack by Kambi comes just a day after the presidential press unit PSCU directors accused Orengo of blackmail and lying over the Lamu saga.
Orengo is set to make a statement over the irregular land allocations in Lamu, which allegedly took place when he was the Lands Minister.
