Kamau hides to escape arrest, EACC claims

02 June 2015, 14:47 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - Under arrest Transport Cabinet Secretary  Michael Kamau is escaping arrest and cannot be found, officers from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC has said.

The Commision complained in court Tuesday that Kamau, who had been ordered arrested last week was nowhere to be seen and could not be found.

The submission was made at the High Court in Nairobi.

Kamau was thus ordered to appear in court Thursday June 4 to answer to charges of abuse of office or a secondary arrest  warrant would be issued against him.

" The accused is thus ordered to appear before this court Thursday June 4," the court order stated.

Kamau will be the first Cabinet Secretary to be charged for corruption after others last week escaped court action  by the EACC.

Those who escaped were Lands CS Charity Ngilu, her Labour counterpart Kazungu Kambi and Agriculture CS Felix Koskei.
