Nairobi - Moses Kajwang has been nominated by the Orange Democratic Movement ODM as its nominee to contest the Homa Bay Senatorial seat.
The party announced Tuesday that after much deliberation and consultation, it had settled on the lesser Kajwang, brother to former Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang who died last month.
Kajwang, who is thought not to be hugely popular in the County will thus contest for the elections via the party of choice in the region and will likely come out winner in the case there will be an election.
It is thought that CORD partner parties and affiliates will not field candidates for the elections and with ruling party the National Alliance TNA already pulling out, he will likely have a free run.
" After much soul searching, vision, input from the members and quest to
entrench democracy ODM has picked Moses Kajwang for Homabay Senatorial seat, a statement by the party said.
The by elections are set for February 12, 2015.
