Nairobi - The motion to impeach Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi failed after MPs failed to get the required quorum to take it to the next stage.
The motion failed to ganner the required 117 votes to have it moved to the next stage as required in the house.
Led by Matayos MP Geoffrey Odanga, the motion had sought to have Kaimenyi removed for alleged gross misconduct whilst in office as well as abuse of office.
But in the vote Wednesday, Odanga ans MPs supporting the motion could only raise 89 votes, to essentially mean that Kaimenyi survived the motion.
50 MPs voted against the impeachment.
Odanga was disappointed after the motion failed but insisted the war against Kaimenyi would not end.
" This is just the beginning of the battle. It is not over," he said.
Kaimenyi has been under fire from many who believe he has ruined the education sector with even the Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT starting a petition to have him kicked out of office.
