Mukurweini - A brother to Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando Monday admitted killing his mother before court.
Caesar Thiari, 40 appeared before Mukurweini Senior Principal Magistrate Wendy Kagendo where he admitted the charges but the court declined to enter a judgment against him, since murder cases are exclusively handled by the high court.
“If there is a confession to make then that can be done appropriately at the High Court,” ruled Magistarte Kagendo.
Thiari is faced with charges of murdering his 70-year-old mother, Rose Wachera Mwangi on July 27, this year at Kaini village, Mukurweini constituency.
Corporal Patrick Oyalo, who is leading investigations of the incident, narrated to the court how Thiari reportedly killed his mother.
“The mother differed with the suspect over reasons still under investigations, then picked a panga and slashed her throat killing her instantly,” said Oyalo.
He requested the court for an extension of two weeks to complete investigations, but the magistrate only handed him one week during which the suspect should also undergo a psychiatric test.
The case continues on august 4.
