05 March 2013, 10:00Wangui Joseph

Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando is nursing injuries after he was attacked by rowdy youths on Monday night at Mukurwe-ini town as he moved from one polling station to another observing voters cast their votes at late night hours.

Kabando is defending his seat on a The National Alliance (TNA) ticket.

Kabando reported the matter to Mukurwe-ini police station and recorded a statement.

Area District Commissioner Isaack Masinde said the aspirant was attacked by a group of youths who later disappeared.

Kabando went to Mukurwe-ini health centre where he was treated and discharged.

He said police have so far arrested three men suspected to be behind the ordeal.

Kabando said the attack was politically maneuvered accusing his rivals for organizing the attack.

He is battling it out with former Nairobi mayor Dick Wathika of Narc party.
