Nairobi - The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is verifying the authenticity of a video clip showing people believed to be its rangers torturing unknown Maasai youths, before punishing the culprits.
KWS Acting Director William Kiprono said he was deeply concerned about the video clip doing rounds on social media terming the act as unacceptable and most unfortunate.
“As KWS, we appreciate that our conservation efforts have made great strides largely due to co-operation of stakeholders, of whom communities are key. In this regard, we remain keen on maintaining cordial relations with these communities for hosting wildlife and would not hesitate to take action against those who undermine such relations,” Kiprono said in a statement.
