KNUT seeks 1 million signatures to remove Kaimenyi

Nairobi - The Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT has started a nationwide campaign to collect signatures to have Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi kicked out of office.
Kaimenyi and KNUT bosses have been at loggerheads for a number of months now, with the two organizations arguing over the running of the Education sector.
KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion has previously stated that he will work hard to ensure Kaimenyi is kicked out of office and Thursday insisted that the move to kick out Kaimenyi was to improve the education sector.
" We intend to collect up to 1 million signatures to have Kaimenyi kicked out of office," he stated.
KNUT believes that Kaimenyi is the one behind many of the problems affecting teachers and wants him removed to pave way for someone with better ideas.
" Kaimenyi is not Education CS by right. There are many other Kenyans who can do the job," he stated.
Kaimenyi has insisted that efforts to have him removed from office will not make him quit.
" I have a job to do and it does not include bowing down to noise from all quarters. The president has faith in me and that is what matters," he said last week.
