Nairobi - The controversial KES 8 billion piece of land in Karen Nairobi that has caused plenty of noise is now under police custody.
The contingent of police arrived at the 134 acre parcel of land Friday afternoon, three days after a court order forced them to take charge of the piece of land.
A spot check by News24 showed a strong presence of police in the area, with over 100 spotted at the site to ensure the development of the parcel of land stops.
The land is currently in the midst of a battle between two Nairobi businessmen who have both claimed the property belongs to them.
Businessman Da Gama Rose has gone to court to contest ownership of a parcel of land he says he bought in 1982.
According to land registry records, the piece of land is not under Da Gama's name, while the National Land Commision says it is.
Top ranking politicians have been sucked into the controversy, with CORD claiming that some leaders in the current Jubilee government are involved in grabbing the land.
The case is set to be heard next week.
