KES 10 million alcohol plant destoyed at Salgaa

Nakuru - As the nationwide crackdown on illicit brew intensifies, police and local administrators in Nakuru destroyed an alcohol plant at Salgaa trading center worth at least KES 10 million Sunday.
Police stormed the Ambaka Wineries Limited early Sunday morning destroying everything before shutting down the plant.
According to the police, the license for the company had expired in 2011.

David Koskey, the Rongai sub-County Commissioner said the company was using fake Kenya Bureau of standards logos on its products.
“We stormed the company after we received information that it was operating on an expired licence. We have destroyed the illicit liquor we found inside there and we are looking for the owners of the company who have gone into hiding,” said Koskey.
