KEMNAC: Youth radicalization has been reduced in Kisauni

Mombasa - Kenya Muslim national advisory council (kemnac) has lauded the notable reduction of youth radicalization in Kisauni Sub County and urged the national government to create job opportunities to help the youth shun the vice.
Kemnac chairman Sheikh Juma Ngao said youth in the region have been engaging in radicalization activities due to lack of employment and job opportunities.
Speaking to the press in Kisauni at a peace forum with religious leaders, Ngao called for unity among religious leaders.

“The stability of this nation will only be achieved of we religious leaders spread peace amongst our communities regardless of our religious faith belief” said Ngao
He however blamed the national government for delaying the 30% tenders allocated t o the youth.
He said the delay of the tenders have slowed down the creation of job opportunities among the youths who had register and formed companies in a bid to win tenders.
“The government should speed up the process of giving out tenders and make it accessible to the youth to help resolve the unemployment issue in the country that has derailed our economy” Ngao
Kemnac has also urged the religious to often engage the youth and monitor their progress in the community to install positive behavioral change in them.
Sheikh Juma Ngao also assured the Kisauni residents that the Mombasa county commission has promised to enhance law and order in the region
In the past Kisauni constituency was noted to be a drug den with a section of the youth from the area believed to be engaged in radicalization hence experiencing high level of insecurity in the region.
