Nairobi - Deputy president William Ruto says that over 100 Al Shabaab militia have been killed in revenge attacks over the killing of 28 Kenyans in a Mandera bus.
Ruto said that the 100 were killed Saturday and Sunday in revenge attacks by the Kenya Defense Forces KDF in retaliation to the Saturday morning attack on a bus in Mandera.
He added that he was confident authorities will in future handle the security of the region better after this episode.
" It is sad to lose innocent Kenyans in the manner that we did, but we have so far reacted as we should, with force and precision, he said of the counter-attack by the KDF.

Ruto said that the operation in Somalia will continue, as will the raids on mosques believed to be harbouring radicalists in the country.
" We will not relent. We will not allow radicals to take over our country. We have a right to protect Kenyans, he added.
The 28 killed were profiled by the attackers through religion, with all those killed non- Muslims.
