Nairobi - The Kenya Defence Forces KDF detonated two more explosive devices in Mandera town as the assault on terrorism by the government continued.
The explosives were detonated Monday after their discovery near a police roadblock in the town Sunday by members of the public.
According to Mandera East OCPD Jack Rotich, there are currently no persons that have been arrested by police over the matter.
" The explosives were discovered Sunday and have been finally detonated. It is good news that there is no one that has been injured, he said.
It is understood that the explosive devices were targeting police who usually man the blocks but at the moment there is no indication as to who planted the devices.
" We are not sure if it is the Al-Shabaab or their sympathizers. We are looking at the matter, he added.
The revelation comes just a few days after bombings in Nairobi and similar detonations by police in various parts of the country.
The government has insisted that it is on top of the current situation which sees Kenyans at risk of plots to harm them by terror groups.
" We will not stop, sleep or drop before we find the terrorists and kick them out of the country, president Uhuru Kenyatta said Sunday.
The United States has already issued a travel warning to its citizens planning to travel to Kenya, as have other western nations.
