Nairobi - Ousted nominee to the position of Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma was rude and hard to work with, the Independent Police Oversight Authority IPOA has said.
IPOA chairman Macharia Njeru says that Juma has always been difficult to work with and is happy that Parliament rejected her nomination by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
MPs Thursday voted to have her nomination to the powerful position of Secretary to the Cabinet revoked saying that she is arrogant.
Juma wrote a letter to the Parliamentary Clerks office asking MPs not to come to her office to ask for favours, whilst in her current position of Interior Permanent Secretary.
MPs, sensing that Juma was insulting towards them, thus voted to have her nomination revoked.
" We support the move to reject her. She is hard to work with, arrogant and has no time for public officials despite holding a public office," Njeru said Friday.
He said that Juma once wrote an abusive and highly disrespectful letter to the Commision, which he says was an act of bad faith.
" It is a public office and unless she is willing to work with and for the people, she is in the wrong place," Njeru added.
The Committee on Security and Public Administration ruled that Juma would not be fit to hold such a high caliber office because she was rude to public officials.
