Jubilee takes small early lead in Kajiado Central poll

Nairobi - The Jubilee Alliance Party JAP has taken a small early lead as vote counting in the Kajiado Central by election kicks off.
At the time of going to press, JAP candidate Patrick Tutui led his Orange Democratic Movement ODM counterpart Elijah Memusi by just 7 votes, 2207 to 2196 from 25 of 102 polling stations.
Independent candidate Kuntai Nkashuma had only 7 votes.
The election saw an up-to 90% turnout by locals, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC.
Tutui and Orange Democratic Movement ODM's Elijah Memusi Kanchory are both fighting for the seat that was left vacant by the ascension to the cabinet of Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery.
The full results are expected to be known by around 10 PM local time.
