Jubilee puts pressure on IEBC to kick out Wetang'ula

Nairobi - The Jubilee Coalition has upped the ante on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC to remove Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula from the voters list.
Wetang'ula risks losing his seat after he was found guilty of voter bribery in the Bungoma Senatorial Election in the 2013 General Polls by the Supreme Court.
The Senate has already gazetted the notice and thus the IEBC by law should remove Wetang'ula from the voters list which will mean he will lose his seat.
It is now understood that the Jubilee Coalition is putting serious pressure on the IEBC to make the highly pivotal decision.
Sources told News24 that the IEBC has been told to stick to the law, with Chairman Isack Hassan ad CEO Ezra Chiloba especially under scrutiny.
" The law has been read out to the bosses. They must stick by the Constitution and remove Wetang'ula," the source that did not want to be named said.
Wetang'ula's removal would be a huge blow to the opposition CORD coalition of which he is a key component as the Minority leader in the Senate as well as leader of the Ford Kenya party.
CORD has already stated that it will contest such a move if it passes and might even try the protest route if possible.
