Jubilee MPs summon Waiguru over corruption

Nairobi - Jubilee Coalition MPs have summoned Devolution CS Anne Waiguru to explain the continued cases of corruption in her Ministry and departments.
The Coalition stated that it needs to be aware of what is going on in her Ministry as the continued cases of corruption are tainting the image of the government and Jubilee Coalition.
In a statement read by Mukurweini MP Kabando Wa Kabando, the MPs said that they needed to hear what her side of the story was as it is not a good image for the government to have her mentioned in corruption circles all the time.
" We request that the CS avail herself for a sitting to explain what exactly is going on in her ministry," the statement read in part.
Waiguru has been accused of overseeing grand corruption in her ministry, the National Youth Service and the National Youth Enterprise, which are all under her docket.
The Huduma Centre has also been under scrutiny.
The latest batch of reports state that her office approved the buying of utilities at prices that are heavily inflated including a television set at KES 1.789 million and condom boxes at KES 25 million.
She has said that she has nothing to do with the alleged misappropriation of funds.
